Yo, Tim here again.
I’m writing this on a rainy Sunday.
I have the feeling this will be a long winter…
Anyway.
My buddy Aaron made $156,353 yesterday.
Today I bring you 1 of his strategies.
A strategy that’s totally overlooked in dropshipping.
Aaron’s last month’s results:
- $3 million in revenue.
- 11k+ new customers.
- 35% from subscriptions.
Not too shabby, right?
His secret is no secret at all. It’s actually the opposite of that:
Founder-led marketing.
It’s not really new. It’s just that we only recently coined a term for it.
Put simple: tell stories about you, your products and your business.
I know, I know. You think dropshippers can’t tell fascinating stories because… well… they dropship.
But that’s not true. Building a business is always an interesting story. Why do you think Shark Tank is such a popular show? Please don’t assume supply chain, cash flow management, and customer support stories aren’t interesting to end consumers. They are. It’s authentic storytelling.
People want to relate to the human part of your brand.
And the best part of it? It’s affordable, scaleable, and heck yeah it’s effective.
Aaron and his company BRÄ’Z spend around a million dollar per month on ads with his face:
^ this video here is one of their top ads on Meta.
Listening to authentic stories from founders makes people wonder about the product. That’s why they wanna buy it. Through founder stories people feel connected and buy.
As dropshippers we have to accept that we're no product innovators. That’s okay. But we can be story innovators. The product is just the thing we show in our stores. We get paid for the story. And no one will tell your story as great as you can.
No one is stopping you from ordering a few products from your supplier and creating content around it. Whether it’s a video, short form text or fun memes.
(2016, I-sell-everything on AliExpress stores aren’t made for this type of marketing, though).
A few options for you that work independent from the product:
- Customer support – we go the extra mile for you (show that you work at night).
- Life of a one-man/woman business.
- Unusual use cases of the product (ask ChatGPT for ideas).
You don’t need to be a high-end content creator.
Just create something.
And if you do, please send it my way. I’d love to see your stuff and support you!
